Fetch option Chain (Equity Derivatives) and quotes from NSE India in a simple Google Sheets template.
How does it work?
It uses the ImportJSON add-on that we built.
ImportJSON provides a simple function to import JSON formatted data from different sources and turn it into a two-dimensional table you can easily manipulate.
Copy the template
To properly set yourself up to extract thousands of data points from NSE India, the first thing you need to do is copy the template:
Generate a nseappid parameter
To scrape easily data from NSEindia, you need to generate a nseappid parameter. How can you do that?
- Install the EditThisCookie plugin. It is only available for Chrome but you can easily find equivalents if you use another browser.
- Go to NSEindia
- Open the EditThisCookie extension menu and copy the value of the nseappid parameter
Install ImportJSON add-on in the copied spreadsheet
Then, simply install the tool into your Google Sheets from the Google Workspace Marketplace following the step-by-step instructions indicated by the add-on.
From there, you can access the tool by clicking “Add-ons” and activating ImportJSON within the spreadsheet, you are ready to go!
